Configuring Applications

The Problem — Organizations must engage in a long, complex process to take a generic application and configure it to perform specific tasks in a specific environment. In a Unix-like OS, this typically means customizing the entries in one or many text files throughout the OS. An application can have from just a few to many thousands of configuration options that must be set before an application can be used for a specific purpose.

The Trigence Solution

Trigence solves complex problems associated with managing application configuration. Conflicts, 'drift', and configuration inconsistency are symptoms of ongoing application management problems that can be addressed with Trigence AE.

Trigence solves configuration problems by simply allowing applications to be captured and stored in their desired state, and managed to meet critical business needs.

Using Trigence AE, managing applications becomes as simple as copying a file. Trade-off decisions which balance application availability with time and labor costs are more easily made. Traditional application management principles, such as a one-to-one ratio of application to server become out-of-date. No longer captive to a single operating system version, an application can be managed and moved safely and quickly to another server over and over.
