Trigence Gains Momentum with an Additional $1.1 Million Financing
Ottawa, ON - July 21, 2003 - Trigence Corp. announced today that it has raised an additional $1.1 Million CDN in a new round of financing. The announcement highlights the confidence that Trigence is continuing to build in the race to redefine the economics of application management for servers. Axis Investment Fund led this round with Sbemco International, Inc. and another private investor participating. The new funds raised by Trigence will be used to accelerate product development and customer trials.
"Today's IT environment is still a complex and costly place," says Peter Low, Managing Partner at Axis. "While the industry has made a number of strides in areas like IT Automation and Server Consolidation, these solutions are an outgrowth of conventional approaches to IT infrastructure management. Trigence introduces a new level of maturity, with an innovative approach to how enterprise server applications are deployed and managed. The level of cost savings and the gains in operational efficiency make this a compelling proposition for customers."
"Confidence in the Trigence team and the Trigence solution is growing rapidly," says Chuck Colford, CEO of Trigence. "I'm delighted to have Axis lead this round and excited to be backed by their track record and expertise in building successful software businesses."
Enterprise IT organizations play a critical role in delivering and guaranteeing services to clients - the lifeblood of most companies. "This means providing guaranteed availability of applications," says Colford. "Unfortunately, solutions today focus on enhancing and managing the server infrastructure - not the applications themselves. This has led to pervasive growth in the number of servers that must be deployed and maintained, each typically dedicated to a single application."
"While hardware costs continue to decline, operations and support costs have spiraled upwards," adds Colford. "The challenge for IT managers is further intensified with mounting pressure to reduce costs. IT executives are seeking solutions to improve corporate return on investment for the IT budget. Trigence products address this need throughout the entire lifecycle of an application."
Trigence is redefining the economics of application lifecycle management for servers. The company's software products enable the deployment and management of applications from the initial test environment through to production servers. Trigence provides the ability to performance-tune deployed applications and engineer disaster recovery scenarios. Trigence products simplify the management of servers by safely enabling rapid and non-disruptive consolidation and movement of enterprise applications.
"We always feel that the management team's strength is key to winning," says Brian Buscher, CEO of Sbemco. "We saw that the Trigence team was seasoned, focused on customers and exploiting a unique mix of backgrounds. This team demonstrates the level of integrity, passion for success and business instinct that we believe makes Trigence an exciting opportunity."
